As markets closed another winning month on Monday, most stocks on our Huntsville and Alabama Stock Report saw gains and some with local interest were near the top of the list.
Steelcase jumped 2.8% The Grand Rapids, Michigan-based office furniture-maker has its biggest plant in Athens, where it employs nearly 800.
Community Health Systems rose 2.6%. The Franklin, Tennessee-based company has six locations in Alabama: Birmingham, Dothan, Enterprise, Foley, Gadsden and Huntsville
Sanmina Corporation also shot up 2.6%. It is a leading integrated manufacturing solutions company with a pair of locations in Huntsville. Its Huntsville Medical Product Design organization develops a broad range of products with a specialty in medical devices and medical electronics for many of the world’s leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Meanwhile, its 260,000-square-foot Huntsville operation is also Sanmina’s premier medical facility in North America, providing PCBA and systems assembly for medical, industrial, commercial and automotive markets.
Carpenter Technology gained 2%. It is a leading producer and distributor of premium specialty alloys, including titanium alloys, powder metals, stainless steels, alloy steels, and tool steels. The Philadelphia-based company has a major campus in Athens, which is home to an advanced additive manufacturing facility and a research and development center.
Overall, Wall Street closed out its latest winning month with another tick higher on Monday.
